Christian Resource Network, Inc., a 501 C3 organization was formed in November 1999 by Founder and CEO, Joan M. Blake, to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to inspire and motivate disadvantaged female youth who have experienced emotional pain stemming from issues such as mental illness, poverty, sickness, imprisonment or homelessness, to reach their highest potential and walk in their purpose.
In the earl:y years of our ministry, we conducted breakfast meetings to teach and support those who were hurting.
Our Mission is as follows:
• To teach, train, and provide disadvantaged young women with basic educational tools, life-skills training, vocational training, art, music, dance, and access to recreational activities so that they will become confident, increase in self-esteem, become independent, and reach their greatest potential.
• To connect our students and others, to network resources such as food, clothing, shelter, on the job training, treatment centers, legal system and prison re-entry programs.
• To visit the sick, shut in, and imprisoned
• To create a newsletter to encourage community participationi
