When you look at your special-needs child whether he or she is a child or an adult, look at him/her with love and kindness, the way that God would look at him/her. God does not make junk.
God created every human being with love and uniqueness; no two people are alike. He made your child with something special, his/her smile, laughter, joy, and everything that is unique to your child. Never feel that your child is not capable of doing something although that child may have been born with certain defects. Try things out and see what that child can do.
I remember the time that my daughter was taking medication for schizophrenia, and after spending a few months in the hospital the doctors gave up on her and told us she would never read or write and that she belonged to a mental institution. I proved them wrong, for today, my daughter reads, and we found out that the medication affected her profoundly.
As caregivers, we must act wisely and know that faith moves mountains, and that God can heal our children according to His will.
