As Caregivers, we experience difficulties, challenges, and our thoughts shift from feeling good to feeling sad, confused, not knowing where to turn and what to do. No day is the same and so some of us end up feeling why we are in this turmoil. As believers in Christ, we do not escape the perils of this life, but God affords us victory when we believe in the power of God.
In the book of Joshua chapter 1, God promised the Israelites that they will enter a land flowing with milk and honey, and while that process was difficult because they had to conquer the land, God instructed Joshua on how the priests must operate, the first six days they were to go around the building once and on the seventh day, they should go around the building six times, blow the trumpet and shout and all the buildings would fall. Throughout the chapter we observe how God was with Joshua, comforting him by telling him to be strong and to be courageous and that He would be with him just as he was with Moses.
This Scripture verse Joshua 1:5 is comforting to you and to me. We do not know how we would make it from day to day. We are human beings who get weary, who feel the pain of our adult or young children with special needs, but God is calling us to lay our burdens down and give it to Jesus. He has heard our cries, he knows our pain and those of our loved ones, and He is here with us, comforting us, giving us the faith to believe in him, and giving us the assurance that He would never leave or forsake us. This is what we need to remember.
May God truly bless you and give you strength,
