Recently, I watched a video on YouTube shorts and although I felt sad after watching this video, I understood how this father felt caring for his teenage son with special needs. His son could not speak, eat by himself, or walk, but his father would pick up his son, lift his leg to show him how to walk, and simply kiss him repeatedly.
The video reminded me about the love that our father God has for us, children; how he picks us up, holds us, and gives us the reassurance that everything will work out for our good even when we feel helpless. The video also reminded me that it is important to give our special needs children/adults all the love that they need, because God continually gives us love, strength, courage, zeal, and hope in our worst moments.
In Romans 5:5, the Bible states that, “hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” During this holiday season, let us forego the past and welcome those with the love of God.
Blessings to you this holiday season,
In Christ,
