Last week, I felt overwhelmed with the many tasks before me. I felt that I could not do them and would not make it. I was right, I could not do them or would not make it without the strength of God. After resting, I listened to my inner spirit, who called my previous statement into question. Didn’t I call you to this task? Are you refusing to answer my call because you do not believe that I, your heavenly Father, can use you or anyone else for my glory?
I realize that I was doubting God, leaning on my own strength, and not keeping my faith alive. You and I must keep our faith alive even in our darkest moments when we do not feel like going on. Dealing with a special needs son, daughter or loved one is a difficult task and we need to increase our faith even more. Keeping our faith alive is remembering that God is the one who is doing the work and we are simply his vessels. There is a tendency to feel that you need to change course when someone gives you another solution to your problem. It is best to consider the solution but wait on God and not be in a hurry to make changes only to regret them later.
Faith is believing God for the impossible while knowing that everything, regardless of how difficult it may be, is in His hands. God promises never to leave or forsake us, and He knows the secrets that we need to help our loved ones. “Let us keep our faith alive and take this journey with God and not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Gal.6:9).
